Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I don't live with my real parents. i haven't since i was 9 monts old but i am now 17.In October last year, I left my house to go to my boyfriends house. I was grounded that day and i just needed to get away for a little while because I was getting upset at my house. My cousin that i live with called the police and charged me with runaway and him with interference with custody. She dropped the charges on both of us but the state picked up his case. What would happen if the state doesn't drop his charges?

Cousins can't "drop charges." Only prosecutors can. Should they proceed, he can go to jail.
