Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I am in the military going on 5th year. I have been married 5 years. I would like to get a divorce. I signed on to be a marine in ga. I pay Ga, Taxes. Do I have to go by North Carolina Laws to be separated a year before a Divorce or can I go by Georgia's Laws. We were married in North Carolina but I pay Ga. taxes on my paycheck.

Depending on details we don't have from your post, you may be able to file in Georgia. A lawyer needs to examine two things - where you CAN file, and whether either jurisdiction would pose problems as to a paticular case. Feel free to contact me with details at 404-768-3509 as to what would be involved in filing in Georgia.
