Re: demand letter

Generally, there are no requirements regarding what must be in a demand letter. Contact the person who wrote the letter and request more detail. Or, you can ignore and hope they don't sue or report it to collections.

If you would like to discuss any issues further, please feel free to contact my office. My contact information is below. Thank you.

The foregoing is general information only, not specific legal advice. No attorney/client relation has been created or should be implied.

Re: demand letter

Your sister should consult with an attorney before contacting opposing counsel. If she doesn't want to do that, I always recommend putting everything in writing or tape recording the call (if permitted by law). That way your sister has a record of what is alleged and what was said. Also, just be safe, see if the person who sent the letter is an attorney in good standing. Go to gabar.org and click attorney directory.
