Public Ebarassment,Defamation of Character,False aqusations

If at a residents association meeting several members of the Exuc. Board acussed me of giving residendts to a sexual offender,and accussed me of meeting him in a institution.. They had not done any research to back their acqusations which were False. and I want to know if there are any grounds for me to file suit?

If you can prove (1) defamatory statements and (2) damages, you may well have a case. However, you should consult with a local attorney who can review with you all the facts and circumstances.
