Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Vehicle Co-ownership

My ex fiance and I cosigned on a vehicle that he now drives. My name is listed first on the loan and the title. Is there anyway for me to get my name removed from the title? He currently makes the payment; but the insurance is in my name. Would anything happen to me if I canceled the insurance?

Re: Vehicle Co-ownership

You could sign over your interest in the title but that won't take you off the loan. I would not cancel the insurance until you are off the loan. If something happens to the vehicle, you want to make darn sure that there is insurance as long as you are on the loan.
