Legal Question in Immigration Law in Georgia

US baby mexican parents

Due to my job, me and my wife were in the US for a number of months legally. She gave birth to our baby and then we came back to Mexico. Our baby has his SSN as well as passport. When we reenter the US for vacations, is it correct to show Mexican parents passports and a baby US passport to the immigration officers? or whaqt is the best way to enter the US without risking the baby citizenship?

Your child will not lose US citizenship if s/he was born here. It would be best for him/her to have a US passport when entering the US, even if the parents are showing Mexican passports.

Dear Inquirer:

The child is a US Citizen, unless you were working here as a diplomat with immunity from US laws while here. If you come back to the US, your child should present the US passport for admission.

I recommend that you email me at [email protected] or visit www.hanlonlawgroup.com if you would like to schedule a confidential consultation to discuss this matter further.
