Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Georgia

creating postcards from a book

Is it legal to cut images out of a book that you have purchased and create postcards for the purpose of selling the postcards? I am not speaking of copying the image, only of using the actual physical material that was purchased by me, and creating postcards from the images.

Re: creating postcards from a book

Whether you use the paper you bought in the book or someone else's material is irrelevant. What matters is use of the image. So, if someone holds a copyright or trademark regarding the image, you will need their permission to legally use it.
