Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

delinquent payroll

The company I worked for suspended operations on 12/06/2001 due to a lack of funds. They did so on a day that happened to be a pay-day without meeting payroll. So along with the fact that they paid one week in arrears, we worked for 3 weeks without ever receiving payment.

Now it seems that the company has managed to round up some more funding and plans on resuming operations. I have moved on to another job, though. What rights do I have regarding expecting payment for those 3 weeks.

As far as I know, there has been no change in the company's structure - i.e. they didn't declare bankruptcy and open under a new name.

Thanks.

Re: delinquent payroll

You are entitled to be paid for the work you performed. Contact the Department of Labor for assistance in collecting your unpaid wages if your own efforts have not been successful. Good luck.
