Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Employee penalization

My employer has enacted as of the January 01, a Vehicle Use Policy that states an employee driver of a company fleet vehicle or rental vehicle used for business will be required pay All expenses including a $1,000 deductible for an At Fault accident. Is this permissible by law?

Re: Employee penalization

Yes. You will have to go work for someone else if you won't agree to it. And if no one will agree to work under that policy, the company will have to change it.

Re: Employee penalization

The question is probably better stated as why would it NOT be legal. Laws do not cover every detail of life, and leave most matters up to agreement. You leave many facts out that could be relevant. Obviously, you know of the condition of employment and can seek work elsewhere. You don't provide any circumstances, or state whether there are options. You left out whether or not there is reimbursement for using the fleet, rental or your own vehicle.
