Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I work part time for a private church preschool. I signed a contract at the start of the year which listed the dates I was required to work. Recently, the school was closed for a week of snow days. The director wants to make up one snow day. This make up day will be on a day that coincides with our County snow day make up, but is on a day were were to be off as per our contract. I have a scheduled obligation and will have to have a substitute for that day. I will lose a day pay as a result. Can the school make us work on a day not listed in our contract? We are being paid for the snow days but not for the make up day. I will still have to get a substitute and be docked the amount.

No one here has read the contract so if you need an answer you need to tak the contract to a lawyer.

Be aware that in most cases your failure to work that day would be grounds to fire you unless your contract says otherwise.
