Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Georgia

Unauthorized dental work on child

My son was supposed to have a ''Marilyn Bridge'' placed to

be a semi-permanent solution to have his tooth on a retainer. (He had a front tooth on a retainer since he had

braces) When we could afford it, we were going to have a

permanent tooth (screw in) placed there..but this would

require surgery and some recuperation time..So we decided on the previously mentioned bridge. The insurance company

approved the procedure. After my son went to the appointment, he was told that they didn't do ''marilyn bridges''. They then proceded to file his teeth down and

do a regular bridge on him. This destroyed two other perfectly healthy teeth. My son had no idea what they were

doing until they were finished and he saw the nubs that were previously his teeth. When I found out I was horrified and upset. After the dentist discovered that

I was upset and that the whole thing was a gross mistake,

the office did a emergency rush job (it was during the xmas holidays) and got the imprints sent out and back within a week and put his porcelin crowns on and ate part

of the charges. Still, now my son can never have the more

natural looking tooth and his other two teeth were destroyed unnessisarly. He is 18:never been to the dentist

alone.
