Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

I am looking to get out of my apartment as soon as possible. I would say I'd like to break my lease, except that I never actually signed a lease. My two roommates both signed it, agreed to the conditions of the apartment, all of that-- before I got into town. I have been living there and paying rent (as well as a deposit) since September.

Since then I have found the conditions of the apartment to be horrible and my roommates are getting unbearable to live with.

If I give notice beforehand, am I technically allowed to move out? What sort of repercussions should I expect and prepare for?

Thanks,

Chris

There is no way to answer you here.

The answer depends on what your roommates lease says and does not say about other occupants.

It additionally depends on your dealings with the landlord, as it is possibly to have an oral tenancy agreement.

Without those details there is no way to respond. You need to go see a lawyer with the requested information. If you get it wrong, you may owe additional rent or damages after you move.
