Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

What if our landlord sells our home without notifying us?

We live in Ga and were just informed today (Wed) that our landlord sold our home and the new owner wants us out by Friday. This gives us only 2 days to find a new place to live and vacate the premises. Do we have any rights to stay in our home?

You have at least the right to a formal eviction proceeding, which will give you 10 days at least (and as much more as you can persuade the judge to give you).

Unfortuately, you cannot enforce your lease against the new owner--you would appear to be a "tenant at suffrance", which means you are not a trespasser, but the owner has the right to evict you immediately through a proper dispossessory proceeding.
