medical bills and credit cards

My husband did not have a will and I am going to have to go to Probate to become admininstrator..am I responsible for his medical bills and personal credit cards?

As administrator, you are responsible for applying all assets owned by him and subject to probate to the payment of his debts. You personally have no libility unless you guaranteed his debts.

You are entitled to receive a "year's support" from his estate, ahead of creditors. This is a complicated procedure, and you will need an attorney to handle it. The attorney can also explain what assets are not "probate assets", and therefore not subject to debts.
