Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

my mother passed away in without a will. Her house was not paid for, so what happens to it? this is also the home for my brother who is disabled and over 22. He was living there with my mother and his caretaker. We really need the house so that he can still live there with a caretaker

Obviously, someone has to pay for the house and the lender will likely require an application process and qualification for a loan for someone else to assume the loan (or essentially purchase the house). If you are asking whether they can continue living there indefinitely without paying, the answer is no.

No one gets a free house. See a lawyer to determine how to best deal with the estate.
