Re: reconciliation after final judgment

An order setting aside a judgment would return the parties to the status of married persons. It can't be done without one of the parties first filing a motion to set aside the judgment. In most cases, the motion to set aside the judgment must be done within one year of the entry of the judgment. If the motion is to set aside a default judgment, one entered because the other party never filed an answer, it is more likely that a court would set it aside, especially if the party was not served with the complaint and summons.
