I have a very annoying neighibor,

I live in a condo. I have a very annoying neighibor who yells and makes rude (mean) comments.

He is not willing to talk.

I want to know what I can do to make him shut up.

I own my condo, he lives with his elderly mother.

I feel like I am walking on eggs all the time.

I have tried to ingnore him but he makes it very difficult.

I am afraid to have company because I don't know what he will say or do.

Re: I have a very annoying neighibor,

I am sorry to hear of your ordeal. If you live in a condo, I assume that you have an association. If so, then the association has rules relating to noise and you should notify your association so that it can take appropriate action on your behalf. If there is no association, you can contact the neighborhood justice center through your neighborhood board. The justice center offers free mediation of disputes between neighbors and the mediators are very experienced in resolving these types of matters. You could also complain to the police if the situation gets really bad. Finally, you could file a civil suit but keep in mind that even if you win, you will have an even angrier neighbor. Finally, if the offender is a renter, you should contact the owner of the unit and let him know that his renter is adversely affecting his neighbors.
