Legal Question in Workers Comp in Hawaii

Extensions by workers compensation claims adjuster

What are the Hawaii regulations and/or guidelines for when the claims adjuster has requested two (2) consecutive extensions. The second extension was 'APPROVED TO 7/28/03. PLEASE NOTE, APPROVAL DATE MODIFIED'. I will include that I was denied Workers Comp (WC) in April. WC did not retrieve my medical file until June 11, 2003. I saw their doctor on June 20, 2003. The extension date has gone by and I've heard nothing, and no one can advise me on what to do next. Thank you for your time and help.

Re: Extensions by workers compensation claims adjuster

You need to write to the Director of the Dept of Labor (830 Punchbowl Street, 2nd Floor) and tell him you object to any further extensions with your reasons supporting this objection. Should you have any further questions, please contact me at 526-4000 ext. 206. Sincerely, T.J. Lane
