Can a company force me to surrender domain names which I own that contain their name?

Yes. Google "UDRP" and you will note that YOU likely pay the attorney fees and expenses of the other side as well as your own, get an injunction issued against you, and turn over your domain to them. That is called "cybersquatting", and can get you in serious trouble because it breaks several laws.
