I am being contacted by a law firm for credit card debt?

I obtained a card in 2004 with an initial credit limit of $500 due to the mistake of the agent she issued a limit of $5000. I informed her of her mistake but nothing was down to bring the limit down. I racked up the credit to the limit like most of us do and now owe 9000. I feel like I would not be in this situation if the cc company would not of made this mistake. Do I have any options???? Can not afford to pay the 9 grand or 5 grand.

Thank you for your question. Based on the information provided, I do not see that you have any recourse except to pay the debt or if you qualify, to file bankruptcy. Hopefully, another attorney will see something here that can help you.
