Can I hold company equipment as collateral for non payment of wages and expenses in the State of IL?

The simple answer is no. If you have not been paid wages that are owed to you, you have a variety of remedies, including but not limited to the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act. This act provides for interest, costs and attorney's fees. I hope this helps.
