Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

I am trying to start a consulting business to help companies bid and win contracts for a corporation. I have a few connections at this corporation that can assist with the process and make sure that my clients get invited to the RFP.

Is this legal? Can I or my internal contacts get in trouble with the law for providing information to me about the bidding/RFP process?

=Thx

You can be a consultant for companies trying to win RFPs; I know people who do this for a living. What you have to watch out for are things like giving out confidential information without full disclosure and permission, conflicts of interest among different clientele, licensing for certain kinds of work (legal, brokering, accounting...), proper e&o insurance depending on the kind of work, etc. Normally as a consultant you represent 1 client trying to win the RFP, and are something like the "hub" or coordinator for the activities. Best to sit with an attorney to whom you can explain everything and put together a proper layer of protection for yourself as well as understand what the ground rules are for this kind of work.
