Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois

Employment Law

I am currently employed with the same company for three years, the last two years being with Human Resouces. The company hired a new VP of HR back in July, 2001. Since her arrival, she has made it very clear to me and the rest of the HR department that she prefers to work independently and she is used to doing her own work. With that being said and done, I, as her Exec. Admin., decided to ''lend'' my skills and knowledge to other departments within the organization who are short-handed in personnel. I have kept myself very busy. The new VP of HR has stripped my of my duties and functions and me no alternative but to keep myself busy with other deparments who really needed me. It has become very clear that she does not like me and talks very badly about me to the other VPs within the organization. Because I have not allowed her to ''drive'' me out of the company, she has informed me to search for something else within the company or leave. My performance and my status are well known within the organization and I feel this to be a great violation. Please, what are my options and how can I protect myself?

Re: Employment Law

As you frame the problem, it seems less a legal problem than a straight employee/mangagement problem. Unless she is discriminating against you for some protected interest, such as race, sex, voting, etc.
