Harassment via Instant Messenger Systems

My 16 year old daughter is being harassed by another 16 year old on an instant messenger program. The other person uses major profanity, makes sexual innuendos and has had another friend of hers, threaten my daughter with using a switchblade on her face. Is there any legal action I can take against this person?

Re: Harassment via Instant Messenger Systems

You might consider turning this information over to the local state attorney's office. This sounds like criminal activity. On a more practical level, I would suggest your daughter delete the offending party from her instant messaging system. I wonder if you really mean email rather than instant messaging.
