Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

In January of 2006 my wife fell in a parking lot owned by a bank and broke her wrist. We called the bank, and the bank got in touch with the hospital to pay all the bills. Three months ago a collection agency called saying we owed $267 dollars for unpaid bills regarding that accident. My wife gave them all the bank\'s contact people and information. The collection agency called again today. They had not bothered to contact the bank and have no desire to do so. They just want to hassle me. I want to know what my rights are here.\nGreg

The bills are your wife's responsibility as it relate to the creditor. Unfortunately, unless you have something in writing from the bank agreeing to pay the bills, it is probably too late to sue them.
