Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

This is kind of a long question but I will attemp to shorten it. I was staying in Oklahoma with another person and we both returned to our home state of Illinois at the same time. She was already traveling to her barn in fairbury and agreed to take my horse along with her. She didnt go out of her way at all and im sure it cost a minimal amount of extra money to haul my horse along with hers. She basically demanded me to pay her $150 the morning before leaving so I had no choice. I wrote her a check. Fast forward about 2 months and said check was still not cashed. I assumed it was lost so I stopped payment on the check. She then proceeded to harrass me through text messages and on facebook even though I explained to her I no longer had the money to give her anyway. If she had been civil about it I would have made some sort of payment arragenments but I was threatened many times. Now 7 months later she has threatened to sue me for the $150 dollars. Should I be worried about this actually going to court? Does she have any grounds that would hold up in court that would require me to have to pay her? Thanks in advance!

Sure she has a case. At one point, you agreed to pay $150 for the service. Two months later you changed your mind. Whether she will take the time and expense of suing you for $150 seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened.
