Surviving spouse responsibility

Is my mother-in-law responsble for repayment of credit card debt in her husband's name only after his death?

thank you for your question. her husbands estate would be liable for the credit card debt. As beneficiary of the estate, she may be held liable. However, the proceeds of the estate should have gone to retire that debt. Feel free to email me with any further questions: [email protected]
