Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
1st time offenders probation
My mom was put on 1st time offenders probation and recived two years. But she was told by taking that deal she would not show up as a convicted felon. She did a search and found that she did in fact have a felony on her record. Should she be a convicted felon or not?

Re: 1st time offenders probation
If she was truly sentenced to first-offender probation for a drug crime, then she does not have a conviction as a matter of law. This does not mean that she doesn't have a paper trail or record. These are different things.
