Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

If my daughters father got arrested for posession of a canibas and armed violence charges for having marijuana and a gun that he had never used and can not find an attorney bc of money and decide to go with a prosecuter and he has never but this one time bein in trouble should he take the seven years the public defender is offreing or is there another choice

Based on the limited facts that you've provided, your daughter's father should be able to get a better plea bargain than 7 years of penitentiary time. Does he have a valid FOID card? Where was the gun recovered? These are some of the questions that need to be looked into. There are many issues presented in this case that could be argued or used to negotiate a lesser sentence. He should do what he can to hire an attorney that will give your daughter's father's case the time it deserves. Especially when jail time is a consideration, you cannot afford not to hire an attorney.
