Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

i am a truck driver and at one of the places that i loadd i was talking to a guy about the new addition that we were putting up. he said let me know what wood you need and ill make you a deal. a couple of weeks later i told him i needed 30 sheets of plywood. he gave me a price, i gave him the money and he loaded it on my trailer. about 4 hours later i was unloading it with some friends and the police showed up. they had gotten a call about multiple trips being made to offload wood. i told them where i got it and they called the place. the head guy came over and said he was going to talk to the guy i bought it from and then decide about charges. we gave our statements and they let us go. how much legal trouble am i in? am i going to jail? what about my friends? i have a previous theft from 5 years ago.

There is really not enough information to answer your questions. However, do not give any more statements to the police. If you are in need of a further consultation, please call my office. I do not charge for an initial consultation.
