I would like to know if having a DUI on record -6 yrs ago- is called a felony and can stop a person from geting a volunteer position. Are there limitations?

Whether your DUI from 6 years ago is considered a felony will depend on many factors. Was anyone injured? Did the DUI involve an accident? Was the DUI for alcohol or drugs? In most cases, a DUI will appear on one's criminal record but whether a volunteer group will find that DUI on a standard employment background search will depend on many factors.
