Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

I was recently given a village ordinance ticket for underage drinking. I was asleep in a closed off room when the police woke up me up by pulling on my arm and giving me a hit in the face. The officer than went through my purse and wallet. I was said that I wanted to call my mom and the officer said after I received a drinking ticket. I said that I didn't want to take a breathalyzer and they put me in handcuffs. I was so scared that I said I would cooperate. I took the breathalyzer after being yelled and sworn at. I want to know what I can do about being assaulted and illegally searched. I was also wondering what the consequences are for my first offense village ordinance ticket. I live in Illinois if that makes a difference.

You need to hire an attorney to represent you on the charge you are facing. In many cases the attorney will be able to make arrangements under which you willnot receive a conviction. You may also wish to conult with an attorney about the police misconduct. Good luck.
