Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

i have a warrant out for my arrest for dui, speeding, and fleeing. how long will the warrant stay active? and i have heard from friends that if the case goes unresolved for long enough that it will "disappear", wat truth is there to that and will i ever be able to get a lisence in any other state without resolving this case? thank you for any help you could offer.

Basically with the internet information could stay active forever. Better to get it resolved now than have it be a problem 20 years from now.
