Legal Question in Elder Law in Illinois

forged signature to change power of attorney

I have in hand a copy of my mothers power of attorney which was changed from the original. I believe her signature was forged because I have many examples of her writen signature in hand. What can I do?

Re: forged signature to change power of attorney

I need more information. Is your mother incapacitated? Check the dates on the subsequent power of attorney. If she was incapacitated on the date of the subsequent power of attorney, that power of attorney is invalid. You may have to gain guardianship. That is a court proceeding. Please call for further discussion.
