Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Support

In my divorce settlement it states that child support for my three kids was to be 32% of my exhusband's net income. The amount that I recieved was based on $60,000. He made over $100,000 for five years and I continued to recieve the same amount of support. Can I file for the amount of money that I should have recieved?

Re: Child Support

Hello. According to the present

language in the statute, a court

has to specify a specific amount as

and for child support and percentages

are no longer allowed. However, I suggests that you get back in court as soon as possible and ask for an increase in child support. Whether you can go back and seek the child

support that should have been paid, is

within the sound discretion of the court. I will be happy to discuss

this further and in more detail.
