Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Child Support

I originally filed my child support case thru public aid that was 12 yrs ago. Sept 2006 I filed for a modification. I have had nothing but problems with the state. They keep giving me excuses. They say that the states attorney's office wants the original file and that they can't find it. The father has had the same job and they apparently had his paperwork and did agree that the order needs to be modified. I am so beside myself trying to deal with the state. What can I do to get this moving along???? I've even consulted with a lawyer and she even won't respond to me!!! Please give me something to go on!!!!!!!!

Re: Child Support

It sounds like you contacted the state for free aid, and consulted with an attorney (but not hiring them). Well, free aid is oftentimes worth what you pay, and attorney's tend to work harder when they are paid.
