Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Divorce

When my current husband and I applied for a marriage license he did not have an ID. All he had was a copy of his lease where the landlord had printed his name. He lied and said that was his signature. He printed his name instead of signing it. Since he lied and did not sign his name correctly does this give grounds for the marriage not being legal?

Re: Divorce

I suppose that could cast some doubt on the validity of the license, but I'm not sure a court would void the marriage if your intentions were correct.

What exactly is your concern? Do you want to void the marriage? Are you worried about having some criminal liability? Do you want a divorce?
