Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My ex-husband & I agreed, while we were still married, that I would be a stay-at-home mom until our son started 1st grade. In the midst of that, we got a divorce. That was a year ago. My custody of the kids is "reasonable & seasonable". I did not have a lawyer. Because of the economy, I have been unable to find a job. He is taking me back to court for child support, even though I have them 65% of the time (been keeping a log). The last time we were there, the judge was talking to another couple. He said that if has been less then 2 years since the custody order was handed down, & the circumstances have drastically changed, you can modify the order. My fiance & I are closing on our house in 2 weeks, I am starting a new job at the end of a class I am taking, so 2 more months. Can I get the order changed after this stuff happens? I can now prove that my ex is a felon, that I can support them, and that they have a stable home, not just my parent's house, to live in. Please help.

There is no such thing as "reasonable and seasonable". If you have custody, it sounds like you will not lose it. But most of the facts you describe need to be properly pled and presented to the court to ensure there is no problems. Let me know if you have more questions.
