Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Hi,

I recently submitted to a DNA test that proved I was the father of a 4yr old girl. If both biological parents are present in the courthouse, and in agreement to change the child's last name to the fathers, does this action need to be published in the local newspaper? Or can we stand in front of the judge same day? Thx

Publishing in a newspaper is not needed. there is a form order that can be entered. Ask the clerk in the courtroom for it.
