Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Temporary Guardianship

My nephew is coming to stay with me from Ill to Mi. My sister is willing to give me custody. With school starting soon school suggested that I get a cert of temporary guardianship until full guardianship can be filed. Is this something that I have to get or my sister and where do we start?

Re: Temporary Guardianship

A guardianship proceeding would need to be commenced in the probate court of the county where the minor would reside. If you should require assistance or have further questions, please contact me at (248) 305-5840. www.lawgreg.com
