Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

visitation not safe

My son is 7 and his dad has never been there, he is on support now after 7 years. My issue is that he is a convicted drug dealer two times and I believe he is still doing it. He leaves my son with his girlfriend and she interrogates him about if his parents are messing around etc. He has threatened me in front of him saying I was going to die so my son came home upset crying and had my other child crying too. Every time he goes over there they argue and cuss around him and when I try to talk to the dad about the issues he ignores me. His girlfriend's sister calls me names in front of my son while his dad does nothing. On top of this my son has a bone disease and he is unable to walk and I fear for his safety when he's there, I didn't deny visitaion but I dont want my son at his household under these ircumstances, can something be done to resolve this?

Re: visitation not safe

You have to get an order of protection, and have that order deny visitation or have supervised visitation. Supervised visitation should be done at an agency through the court at the father's expense. Also, the order should state that no other persons are to be present during the visitation. Only the father and the supervisor.
