Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

Hello,
I need advice about an issue. My finance's sister stolen items from me. I have recovered some items that are mine, and I have double checked that they are mine. These items were recovered under the direct permission of the owner of the home. Now there are some items that are still missing, and she is the prime suspect. She does deny having the items and stealing the items even though I have caught her personally. They total up to $537. How should I proceed? I am going to file a police report tomorrow.

If you file a police report than the city/state may proceed to charge your fiancees sister criminally.

You may also want to make a claim if you have homeowners/renters insurance.
