Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Illinois

Walmart refused to let me return my UNOPENED dvds because they said it was against copyright laws. I understand why they would refuse if the dvds had been opened, but it doesn't make sense when they are unopened, still in the original shrink wrap and with the walmart price sticker on it; all intact. Is it really against copyright laws for them to all the return?

Walmart can certainly have a policy which does not allow the return of certain items, they might even be restricted by the distributors of the DVDs.
