Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I was just fired from my job a month ago- for misconduct of company policy. I thought it suspicious because it was one day after I had signed a severance package, and several former employees who were let go when their stores closed had the same treatment. anyway, my question is two-fold. I had one whole week of vacation coming, at one point under Illinois law, I had thought that they had to at least pay me that. Secondly, what would my chances be of collecting unemployment from the state given that I admit fault?

Yes, you should be paid for accrued vacation. You might have a tough time collecting unemployment if you were fired for legitimate cause.
