Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I was hired by a contractor's company and they didn't offer me to sigh any written contract. I was offered to be payed by hour. I used my own vehicle, tools and supplies. I quit the job after a couple of weeks due to company not following adequate work practices. When I asked to be payed they started to impose impossible tasks such as delivering paperwork that's not possible to recover or collecting payments from customers that had been collected before me. In some cases payment arrangements were made directly between customer and company owner (which makes impossible for me to collect payments). The company refuses to pay. What can be done to be payed?
