Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

My husband just past a complete background and FBI check and passed. However when they called his last employer they said he was fired for using a company credit card off hours....he bought hammers for his crew and brought them in to work right away....he was fired for it. Now Exelon Nuclear denied his security access because he is untrustworthy. We have ten days to appeal this with a letter. what do you recommend we write in this letter. It would change our lives to get this job. thank you soo much

Your husband should have challenged the stated reason for the termination with the prior employer when it occurred. This is something that will stay with your husband a long time unless it can be resolved. You should immediately contact an attorney with experience in these matters.
