Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I work at a factory and a co-worker of mine brings his friends who are not employed with the company to "help him out" during his shift. The company pays my co-worker (legitimately) the co-worker turns around and pays his friends. Our immediate supervisors don't say anything because the friends helps with the daily quota. When I ask about it I'm ignored. It all sounds fishy to me and I want to report it. Can I be fired if I call and report this and is this even legal? Thank in advance.

The scenario you decribe is likely prohibited under a variety of state and federal laws. One law in particular, the Fair Labor Standards Act prohibits your employer from retaliating against you if you complain about a violation.
