Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

Falsified lease agreement.

I need to break out of a lease. The lease contract is not binding, because the requirement for the lease is for the tenant to make 52,000 dollars. I and other cotenant applied. The other co-tenant falsified bank documents to show she had 10,000 in the account. I don't believe this contract is enforceable. What type of legal action do I need to pursue to break the lease?

Re: Falsified lease agreement.

There is no legal action for you to take. You are always free to break the lease just like the landlord is free to sue you for unpaid rent. It would appear that you knew going into the lease that your co-tenant lied so I do not think you are going to be on a solid footing when and if your landlord sues you.
