Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

Landlord towed cars

3 months ago after 4 years, we fell behind on our rent. we were in contact with the building manager, and on June 5 and every thing and that month rent up to date, or so I thought. the rent and parking spaces are required 2 checkes. when I had last spoken to building mang. and that I had received my bonus check, I wanted the amount that was due. 4000.00 was everything and was told to it with cert. check and drop it off at their office. I did that, and they have a carrier desk downstair since they did not want to see me and told me to leave it with him and that was it. thursday they removed our cars, and friday got a evication notice from the police that they never got the cert. check, I still have the copy, and the bank is running a search for it. I cost 500.00 to get our cars back, and they were damaged, and I never, never had any call, letters, or warnings that something was wrong. And they have my email, and I have the emails from other problems. And the elevators have had maintance problems the last year, on one the door slams shut, and has done it twice to me the last month, and my shoulder hurts.

what should I do.

Re: Landlord towed cars

It is unclear from your query what exactly transpired with your landlord, but it's pretty apparent they don't want you in the building. Perhaps you should move.
