Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

lease ending date

I signed an 18 month lease on a townhome starting Aug 1 of 2007.The termination date on the lease is listed as February 29, 2009. By my count the lease should end Jan 31 of 2009 which is 18 months from Aug 1 of 2007. My landlord is trying to make me pay until February 29 of 2009 cllaiming im breaking my lease, My contention is that the lease is incorrect and is actually a 19 month lease. On the lease itself it states that it runs from Aug 1 2007 to Feb 29 2009..but right underneath that is a line that says length of lease will be 18 months. AM i obligated to give him Februarys rent based on this I am moving out this weekend regardless. Does he have a case or am i correct??

Re: lease ending date

I think it would be a good idea to have an attorney review your lease in order to get a definitive answer.
